Historic Scotland has an ambitious programme for the conservation and rehabilitation of the Royal Palace in Stirling Castle, one of the most important Renaissance buildings in Northern Europe. The property is already one of the most heavily visited sites in the Historic Scotland portfolio, contributing 15% of annual earned incomes.
PLB was charged with evaluating six different strategies for re-presenting the Palace to a range of audiences. Once an approach was agreed with the internal project team, we produced a business case justifying this approach to investment in the property. Our report is being used by the Historic Scotland project team to support a submission for additional funding for the final stage of what has been a 20 year, £20 million programme.
