" Byron was a bit naughty!" 2006 LitHouses Conference
Literary houses face unique challenges in the interpretation of their sites and collections.
Projects Director, Sarah Oswald offers suggestions at the LitHouses Conference, hosted by Newstead Abbey, Nottinghamshire, in November 2006.
Sarah draws examples from our Audience Development and Access Plan for Newstead Abbey, completed earlier this year. The flamboyant and even rather 'naughty' romantic poet Lord Byron was a one-time owner of Newstead and the presentation's title came from our visitor research.
Sarah looks at how literary houses and museums can communicate and interpret the lives and works of their authors more effectively.
